Happy 1st of Grace's 1st Birthday Celebrations

It turns out that June 30th is THE WORST weekend to have a birthday.  OK, actually it is the worst weekend to throw a party, turns out that its a pretty sweet deal for the birthday girl since she gets 4 different times for people to shower her with love.  This was a first celebration at Lake Tippy.

in case anyone forgot how old grace was going to be, i made little tags to refresh them every time they took a sip : )

not anywhere near as cute as my inspiration from pinterest, and i may not have any fingerprints on a few fingers.  but it isn't horrible!



found pink lemonade cupcakes with pink lemonade icing at walmart...they were awesome.  e helped me bake them the morning of grace's party



yummy fruit and yogurt parfait bar!  i tried a brand new recipe for my granola, and although it wasn't as crunchy as other recipes i've made (could have something to do with the fact that it was made and cooled in a 100 year old log cabin without any air conditioning), but i really liked the flavor

definitely got my craft fix with whipping up some decorations for this party

grace and her best bud claire....can't wait to see what  these two will get into as they get older

in honor of her big birthday, grace decided she wanted to sit at the picnic table with the "big" kids.  shortly afterwards, she continued to miss the memo that it was a table because multiple people found her climbing and sitting on top of the table

and, when you are one and have a couple of 3 year olds at your party, you can be confident that you will get lots of help tearing into your presents.  i think some gifts flew at her already out of their packaging



and the first of her sweet treats...she DEFINITELY has the sweet tooth gene like her brother (see bottom picture).  as soon as the cupcake was down in front her her, she pulled out the candle (wasn't lit because of the wind on the front porch) and handed it to me. she clearly understood this was going to be in her way as she devoured this yummy treat

then she started going by the fist full

and when that wasn't enough, she just face planted right into the cupcake
