Pictures from the weekend!

All dressed up for Jaclyn and Page Cotton's wedding...E looks like he is trying to fly off my hip, but hey...at least its a family pic! Evan is a little confused with the exersaucer. He thought it would be just as fun to be underneath it, but I think he is second guessing that decision.

Funny Boy!

What? I see nothing wrong with this situation. Don't all mommies and daddies put their kids in hampers after they seem extremely interested in it? And, yes, Bret's hamper has seen better days....we might have to spring for a new, fancy one minus holes ;).
Little E is kind of obsessed with the air grate/vent things in our floor. Check out this face! There is one on one side of the short wall and one on the other. He will crawl back and forth between them, stick his fingers in the holes and wiggle them. Its a little odd....

Short Clip of the Army Crawl

It is crazy how much better E has gotten at sitting up on his own in the last two weeks. Now, we are moving on to crawling! Check it out...its short b/c I didn't put him far enough away!

Six Months!

Whoa! Last night when we went to bed (at 10pm) Bret and I couldn't believe exactly 6 months ago we were calling the Dr. to tell her we were in labor and thinking about going to the hospital. I can't believe how much our lives have changed!! It has been emotional, stressful, happy, exciting, and crazy fun! I can't wait to see what will unfold in the next 6 months and many years to come for our family!

Brand new! Happy Birthday Evan 3/22/09 One month - second guessing his decision to come out of that cozy little world. Still sporting some red hair!
Two months (or around then :) ). Starting to develop a bit of a personality along with a HUGE growth spurt...
Three Months - Calming down from the fussy stage, first airplane ride, sleeping through the night and first time in a pool
Four Months - Getting Teeth and Tracking Tillie (and fish at the aquarium). Lots of giggling and smiles for Mommy and Daddy!
Five Months - thinking about moving to the big boy stroller and meeting new family
Six months...army crawling and sitting up like a big boy

Making food!

I can't really explain why, but I am very proud of myself for actually going out and trying to make my own baby food. I think it might have something to do with my control freak nature because I know precisely (as much as I can short of stalking the farmers and the produce in route to my local Kroger) what is going into his food. For some reason it makes me feel good to know that I'm doing it. So far, I have successfully made carrots, peas, apples and sweet potato. Evan LOVED apple this morning and thoroughly enjoyed the carrots the two times he had it since I made the batch. I plan on conquering acorn squash and green beans tonight, and if I get out, I might make another Kroger run to pick up some more fruit options. I have to admit, I am a little bit obsessed with making the food. If allowed, I would venture to say, that I would be content to make baby food all day long (in between playing, feeding, putting to sleep, changing diapers with Evan). I'm having visions of making my own to sell to people and single-handedly, in my galley kitchen (with barely enough countertop to place a steamer), my mini-me stove, my ancient blender, my trusty steamer, and my dozens of ice cube trays and freezer bags (currently busting out of my itty bitty freezer) taking down Gerber and their baby food. Ok, maybe not, but I still feel good about what I'm setting out to do! I hope I don't pull a Natalie and get super excited about this and burn out a few weeks into it! These are my total savings SO FAR!!

Ode to the Spoon

And, this lovely tune is called Ode to the Spoon. I LOVE the end where he drops the spoon. He knows it still exists, he just can't figure out where it went!

Pictures from last weekend and Labor Day weekend

Can you tell he is completely in the I want to touch it, I want to do it, I want to see it stage? He really loves the baby food! I think he actually got some in his mouth too ;). These were carrots which were my first attempt at making my own baby food! So far, I'm hooked, E is hooked, and I'm hoping I keep it up! For carrots, I think I saved 15 cents per ounce making my own! I have big plans for acorn squash, green beans, peas, peaches, apples, yellow squash, and sweet potatoes in the next couple of days. I'll let you know how it goes! E supporting Uncle Phil...and REALLY excited about it. LOVING the baby pool. he may have thrown up right after this. i may have scooped it out with my hands so he could play more. then, he may have puked again.

this is evan's model pose :). really, if he could talk, he would say, i see that toy that she is dangling up in the air, bu how am i going to get it?
my men in their sweatshirts! poster picture for the summer that never was....big boy! so, mr. e has decided that he prefers to be in the big boy stroller. except for today. today, he decided he wanted nothing to do with the stroller either as a big boy or in the carrier. of course, he decided this when we were on the complete other side of mariemont.
why get out toys when i can occupy myself with the tag?
E loves paper. This is his I'm loving it face...easily confused with his intense concentration face.
