5 months, Jogging Stroller, Cousins and Food lovin!
Evan at the Dr. appt for his 5 month weight check since he was dropping percentiles. Started in the 90th for weight, and today he has dropped to the 35th for weight. Pediatrician isn't worried because he looks like a healthy guy, and because he is getting longer, and his head is getting bigger. But she is bothered that he keeps dropping and wants his weight to level out into a curve. He weighs 15lb 3oz and is 27" long.
Just hanging out in the jogging stroller! E is a bit too young to take it for a spin, but we did go outside and walked a few steps. This thing is a beast! 18" wheels and shocks!
HEY ELIZABETH! Do you see my SUPER cool socks??? They look like shoes!
Evan - Hey Elizabeth, look over this way. We are supposed to be taking a really cute picture like my Aunt Kate and your Mommy did
Elizabeth - I don't want to...Do you think if I look all the way over here he will leave me alone?
Evan - Hey Elizabeth! We need to take the picture!
Elizabeth - Seriously, Evan, I'm not interested in taking the picture

Just the two of us!
Bret is out of town for a bachelor party, so Evan, Tillie and I are having a low-key weekend just the 3 of us. Unfortunately for Evan that means LOTS of picture time ;)

Evan's First Tooth
I noticed today that Evan's first tooth is starting to pop through! He will be 5 months old in 9 days!
I know...I have crazy good filming skills...or not. But you are looking for the tiny speck of white on his gum near where I point my finger.

Belly Laughs!
So, Evan has four sports balls, a soccer ball, a basketball, a football and a baseball. Bret thought the one Evan grabbed first would be the sport he would play first. But, today he laughed at the soccer ball (video), grabbed the football, ate the basketball and threw the baseball. What does that mean???

The Aquarium and a Relaxing Weekend at Home!
Since Evan can now track things with his eyes (Tillie is his favorite subject to watch!), Bret and I thought we would take him the Newport's Aquarium so he could watch the fish. Look how excited he is ;), and check out his kicks! My mom and dad (Grammy and Grandpa) decided every almost 5 month old should have a pair of boat shoes!
He was absolutely mesmerized by all of the fish! Bright and dull, he would just stare at all of the tanks. If the fish were really active or lots of bright ones in one tank, his eyes would dart all over the place! We think he liked the jellyfish exhibit the best because he would put both hands up on the tank and giggle.
And since he was wearing big boy clothes (outfit is from his babysitter Carol and the hat is from Uncle Phil), I couldn't resist taking a hundred pictures of him. Here are a few :).

First Bite of Cereal!!
not so sure about this food thing...
no, i think i like it
i don't know if i want more mommy...
or, maybe i will dive bomb the spoon, but i spy a shiny gatorade bottle on the table. maybe i want that instead.
yes, i prefer the gatorade bottle
tonight we gave evan his first taste of rice cereal. he wasn't quite sure about it at first, but he got the hang of it for a few bites. then, he got distracted by the glass bowl and the gatorade bottle on the table. then, he spit some of his milk and cereal back up. lesson 1 from the feeding experiences--feed him with minimal distractions...no shiny things in sight!

Welcome Baby Field!
Elizabeth Jane Field
August 5, 2009
1:22 a.m.
8lbs 7oz
Length TBD
Evan was sooo excited about the birth of his new cousin (actually his 2nd cousin...I think?) that he needed to wake-up at 4:15 a.m. this morning. I am soooo excited to see Elizabeth grow and develop her little personality, and I think it is AWESOME that Evan now has someone to play with at Lake Tippy (and other family functions...Thanksgiving and Xmas 2009!!).
