Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was a kind of cold, kind of gloomy sort of weekend.  We only really stayed for one night because Gracie decided it would be waaay more fun to be awake from 10pm-330am than sleeping.  I disagreed, so by dinner the next day, we were headed home so that both kids could get a better night's sleep.
chowing down with her buddy claire.  claire doesn't seem the slightest bit phased by the stare she is getting from gracie
loving the water.  this child will be wearing a life jacket the entire time she is at the lake.  i may even make her sleep in it.  she spent her entire time running up and down the pier, and she would have probably tried to get in alone if allowed the opportunity.
always work to be done at the log cabin!  packaw was smart to enlist the help of the kids...
identical height!!!
and of course, there was LOTS of fishing!  evan would probably sleep on the pier with a line in the water if we let him.  fishing is the first thing he wants to do when he arrives, and it what he asks about all week when we are at home.

success!!!!
thank goodness packaw was fishing with evan too because that fish would have still been attached the the line if it were up to me.  pulling a hook out of a fish is not on my list of desirable activities, and i'm not sure i have the talent for it..

More May Happenings...

Blog updating has not been my strong point lately!  Apparently, when Bret gets promoted, and we gear up to move again, I shut down all activities except cleaning/maintaining cleaning and kid hovering (to ensure they don't make any messes).  BUT, prior to the promotion/gearing up to move, we did a few things.

like practicing our drilling.  i personally LOVE that she is using a drill in a dress with a bow in her hair...

we got in some more snuggling...

and we played in the pool....until we took it to the lake to get rid of some of our clutter

gracie is VERY into cheesing these days...i love that in every smile you can see that she is saying cheese
both kids loved running and jumping into the pool...starting off
 and leaping into the pool
and gracie gathering momentum to jump...
which turned out to be more of a topple into the pool

we have been playing a TON with the next door neighbors.  evan and gracie absolutely love their friends next door.  it has been the source of many tantrums for evan because he hasn't wanted to come home, and he is very upset to be leaving them behind when we make the big move.
gracie's i'm so over this picture taking business face
so happy to finally be outside and swimming...never mind that it was just barely warm enough to be wearing a suit!
