Hello World!
Love my big babies : ). 7lb 10oz and 20" long (E was 8lb and 20.5")
Getting all clean
Grace is already a shopper! When Big Brother Evan came to visit, she surprised him with a few gifts
He is SUCH a good big brother. He was so excited to get to hold her and spent the whole time studying her and smiling.

Pics from the last few weeks....
Father's Day...we spent the weekend with my parents who were doing a huge gardening project. Evan was thrilled to help out and roped Bret into helping him load his wheel barrel with mulch
Days til Gracie gets here!
Evan hates anything that is really cold or really hot...basically, he only eats food at room temperature. So, Bret and I were shocked that he actually drank and requested to have more of Bret's milkshake from DQ one day. Since he liked it so much, I whipped up a peanut butter and banana milkshake (with a hint of cocoa) the other day. I thought it was yummy, and Evan definitely agreed!
Big cheese!
And as we are counting down the days for Gracie, Evan and I made a surprise for the World's Best Daddy. It is his hospital survival kit!
Full of tons of stuff that will keep him hydrated, energized, minty fresh and hopefully pain free after having to sleep on the not so pleasant bed options they have for spouses in the hospital.
Stay tuned for more pictures in a couple of days! We are very excited to meet our little baby girl!!

Just like Daddy and Baseball
One of Evan's favorite things to do these days is to help Daddy "mow grass". First you have to do some edging...
Then you get to mow!
Bret's work had a Family Day at the Indianapolis Indians game on Sunday. It was SUCH a beautiful day, and Evan was really excited to watch the game. He was committed to sitting for half of the first inning, but then it was much more fun to roam and occasionally stop to watch the game from the top. Since our seats were in a very popular spot for line drive foul balls, I did not bat an eye when he decided he was done sitting in his seat!

I'm a Big Guy
Evan has a lot of new phrases that are entering his vocab. The a few of the favorites right now are:
I like it. I don't like it. My do it. NO MOMMY. I'm a big guy. My (enter any possible object here). My Lindsey - My girlfriend.Hanging out in his big guy underwear (Thomas) thanks to Grammy and Packaw
Other somewhat big buy underwear (pull ups) and his cool shades from his girlfriend Lindsey...I guess they are also from Lindsey's new husband Jon too : )
Giving Bret some love after he finally woke up after about a 3.5 hour nap after he got home from being knocked out for his scope. Nothing really makes up for the stress of having a loved one knocked out for any procedure, but the goofy things they say as they are coming back are close ; ). You know you are married to someone that has work on their mind when the first thing they say is "can I have my phone (his work phone), I need to see if I have emails to return". At least that is what he was trying to say...it came out a bit garbled like someone that just drank a brewery's entire supply.

Its JUNE!!!!
June is a great month!
It means....
pretty flowers on the front and back porch (as of a few hours ago with more work still to be done in this area)

GOOD Food!
AND it means a new baby girl is coming very, very soon to the Govert household. 24 days OR LESS (also trying not to panic because I still have a few more touches that I would like to do in the nursery)
Speaking of the good food...yummy corn came last week in our Green BEAN delivery. Evan is a huge fan of eating it off the cob this year.

Ring Bearer...CHECK
Evan and Bret were in a wedding this weekend (Jon and Lindsey). Bret did a great job ushering, and we're biased, but we think Evan might have been the cutest and best ring bearer ever. He sprinted down the aisle every time we practiced, but when it came for his big moment, he was priceless! He walked to the top of the aisle, paused to take it all in and then slowly made his way the rest of the aisle straight to me. After initially hugging the pillow, then dangling it by one corner, he ended up making it down the majority of the aisle carrying the pillow with perfect form. The only "mishap" of the evening was when Evan managed to walk up to the cake before the reception started and take a swipe of icing from the bottom layer before I could pull him away. Even worse, I happened to turn my head and see the photographer right after I picked him up...I can only imagine how that picture will turn out!
Practicing our smile before the rehearsal dinner
Hanging out with Daddy in matching clothes!
Checking everything out...very blurry because the real pictures were going on behind us, and I was afraid to use my flash
Ready to go!
I can't wait to see the pictures the photographer captured! Turns out I should have handed my camera off to someone else because when you are focused on getting a 2 year old's attention so that he will continue walking down the aisle, you forget about your camera!
*side note - if anyone knows a 2T little boy that needs a tux, we are now the proud owner of this snazzy one since they only rent sizes down to a 4T

Memorial Day Weekend
Well, the weather wasn't the best ever, but it was very nice to get up to the lake with Evan over Memorial Day weekend. It probably won't be until later in July before we make the trip again! Even with crummy weather, it was still an action packed weekend.
Packaw got Evan his first baseball set. They had a blast hitting balls inside and outside the cabin!
And my Aunt Betsy, Aunt Krisce and Grandma Shirley threw Baby Grace and I a shower. This girl has quite the closet now!
She is also the proud owner of her first Myers quilt!
Evan took a bath with a girl (Ebie...I think she would be his 2nd cousin?)
They also exercised together. Big Doggie (aka Hoosier) in the background was the object of a lot of Evan's conversations. He woke up talking about seeing Big Doggie and went to bed talking about Big Doggie.

Kiddie 500
Evan's daycare had a Kiddie 500 the Friday before the Indy 500. Basically, this consisted of the kids riding their bikes in the parking lot with the teachers doing their best to maintain order. Even though Evan doesn't go to daycare on Fridays, we swung by because he can't resist any opportunity to ride his bike!
Turns out that it is mass chaos when you bring a bunch of kids outside and they see their bikes. Instantly turned into a dead sprint towards the bike. Then...some practice
On your mark. get set.
GO!
Planning his route for the way back...
Waaaay to go Team Mancinos!
Side note-if you notice that all the kids look a bit bigger than E, it is because he was in with the big kids (3-4 year olds). Turns out he is the only 2 year old at the daycare that can pedal!
