Happy Easter!

I wish the weather was like this EVERY Easter weekend.  I also wish the weather would stay like this for more than just the weekend.  I think we are ready for a little bit of summer, and of course, after we get into the real heat of the summer, i will complain again for a little bit of fall : ).

family easter picture! i wasn't worried about evan wearing his fancy clothes...he seems to really appreciate opportunities to wear "special" clothes.  in fact, it isn't strange for him  pick out his button up, sweater vest, khakis and dress shoes to wear to school. gracie, on the other hand, has been boycotting dresses.  SO, i was a wee bit dreading a tantrum when it came time to actually wear the dress.  but, my princess loving lady was a HUGE fan of her easter dress.  she said she was a princess and immediately wanted to put her dress on when she got up in the morning (after checking out her easter basket and hunting eggs of course...priorities).  the easter bunny even gave her necklaces and a princess sofia stuffed animal.  she was living the princess dream!

Belgian Draft Horses

One of Bret's customers also happens to show Belgian Draft Horses and a couple of weeks ago, he invited us to come check them out!  I knew the horses were big, but I'm not sure I truly pictured their enormous size!  I was a nervous wreck most of the time because I was sure one of the kids was going to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and get kicked into the next county by one of these giant horses.  but, all that worry for nothing (story of my life) because we made it through an entire afternoon without a single scratch!

getting up close and personal!  you know that gracie was super excited since she not only went with someone just met but she also let him pick her up!  i guess i just need to leave her with people that have giant horses and she will stop running after me screaming and crying ; )!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Evan could not be more excited to be starting his first baseball season!!  He is one lucky duck because the fields at the 360+ acre youth sports complex were completed in time for his first season!  They have at least 26 ball diamonds, and so far he has had two games on dirt fields, but he has had a practice on one of their turf fields.  The complex is amazing, and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the sports areas look like after seeing how fancy just the little league section of the complex is!  Evan is a sports fanatic, and he really is lucky to have such a well developed sports league right in his backyard catering to every sport he could possibly want to play, AND now he can play anything and everything at a crazy nice complex!

playing first base!  evan initially wasn't thrilled to be in this position because it is the position that sees all the action.  no matter where the ball is hit, every player is supposed to throw the ball to the first baseman.  but after a bit of practice, he is a bit more comfortable.  i feel for him though...i wouldn't be crazy about trying to catch some of the wild balls that these kids throw!
