Big day!
So, Evan had a really bad night two nights ago. He woke up screaming at around 10pm and persisted to scream off and on WHILE Bret and I were trying to soothe him for approximately 2 hours. He ended up only being able to get comfortable while snuggling in between Bret and I in our bed. I was not complaining (even though it was in the middle of the night and I was tired) because he loves to be on the move, and I rarely am able to snuggle with the little guy. Well, I found out yesterday why he was so upset. The little guy is getting two top teeth in, and between last night and this morning, they broke through his gums. His poor gums are bright red, and I have to think they hurt! Kind of weird though...from the placement in his mouth it appears like he is getting a central incisor and a lateral incisor instead of his two central incisors (two front teeth). This means either 1. He is just getting teeth in a different order than the typical baby 2. His teeth are coming in a little bit off center (ok waaay off center) 3. I didn't notice his other one coming in and he is actually getting 3 teeth at once...

Standing???
E can pull himself up on his Baby Einstein activity bar, but he does it for one specific purpose....
Chicago Marathon Weekend!!!!!!!!!!
This is the only picture I took of the Chicago Marathon...you will notice that none of these runners are the people I went to watch (my Dad, my Brother and Bret). You can read why this is the only picture after the next picture! But, on a positive note, all 3 that I went to support did AWESOME! Phil ran a 3:36; Bret ran a 3:37 and my Dad ran a 3:55. Everyone PR'd (not hard for Phil since it was his 1st!). I was SOOOOO proud of Bret since he ran a very smart race...nearly identical half marathon times! All 3 runners felt great...well, maybe not today (2 days afterwards...they are all avoiding stairs, crouching and any sudden movements).
BEST seat in the house for Marathon viewing...unfortunately this Little E disagreed. He slept like this until all the fans starting yelling, then he woke-up, then he started the famous Govert degrade. The end result, I am still sore from shoulder to waist from carrying him approximately 4 hours and multiple miles (some of which included also pushing a stroller and talking on the cell phone...not a fan of that multi-tasking). He was part cold and really overtired (Govert Degrade), but we are back on schedule, and he slept the entire 5 hour trip home.
Really excited about a trip to see his "cousin" Elizabeth

Pumpkins!
uh. Daddy? What are these orange things? Please don't leave me...
Trying very hard to find the best pumpkin
Trying to decide if he would like to play with the straw instead...
Daddy is a bit more excited about the baby pumpkin (of course we got a daddy-size pumpkin, a mommy-sized pumpkin and a baby-sized pumpkin) then little E, but I think he is warming up to the pumpkin idea

Sonia's Family and Crawling
This week Evan and were able to go up to Ft. Wayne, IN to spend time with Sonia and her family. We celebrated her dad's life with fond memories, laughter and tears. It really meant a lot to me that Evan was able to be happy diversion for them...even when he was grunting his special I'm tired grunts :).
Bret and I have an amazing little guy. This what E looked like after 3.5 hours straight (NO STOPPING!) in the car with just the two of us. I was amazed. He was happy (sometimes sleeping, sometimes playing) the whole way up and the entire way back. Seriously...two trips of 3.5 hours (7 hours total) in three days, and he was happy both trips! A few times he needed help getting his paci back in his mouth, but the majority of the time we were smooth sailing!
Miller and Hovelson clan...this is for you! Army crawling!
rolling on the floor with Uncle Dan (first time meeting this weekend!)
giving Aunt Sonia some love...
No Mommy! This dish rack goes OUTSIDE the sink like ours...let me help them!
Mommy...I'm trying, but I just can't get it out of the sink

Kelly, Jacob, Olivia and Grant came to babysit Evan while Bret and I went to a wedding. Yes it takes an entire family to babysit Evan :).
