Love the baby noises!

another one with his cute little baby noises!

Leaving his mark...

Evan thought there was a little something missing from his play gym...now it is just right :). And, yes, now that I have heard my voice on this clip, I will never be speaking like that again.

Happy Blingin Bday and Baby Having Day to ME!

For my birthday present, and for enduring pregnancy and childbirth, Bret duplicated my wedding band and had it put on the top side of my engagement ring. Isn't it pretty! I can't stop looking at it! I'm kind of obsessed...that is a lot of diamonds!!!

Tillie...

tillie wanted to experience the boppy too. i don't think she can figure out why i like it so much though...

Happy 1 Month Birthday

evan was 1 month old on April 22. He had his 1 month Dr. appt, and here are the stats!
Weight: 10lbs 13oz (80th percentile)
Length: 23 in (90th percentile)
overall, he did a great job at the drs office. he wasn't happy when he was asleep, and i stripped him down to be weighed. the nurse said the little bit of red in his hair gave him a temper. i still deny that his hair is red, but its a little hard to with the angle of some of these pics.

here are some pictures from his 1 month birthday! look how BIG he is!!
clearly NOT happy about the picture. actually, i think he was figuring out that he was awake b/c it was time to eat. and, he wanted to eat NOW which is generally how it goes! when evan realizes that he is hungry, he is very demanding!

Final DR. appt

HOORAY!! After 10 months of every month, every other week and every week Dr. appts, I am officially done! I finally asked about my total weight gain...I had been closing my eyes that last several appts b/c the numbers were getting a bit too big. I gained 35 lbs while I was pregnant with Evan (felt like 350lbs), and I have lost all but 6lbs in exactly 4 weeks. I also got clearance to start resuming normal activities LIKE RUNNING!!!!!! I can't wait!

Out Voted

I just realized that I am officially out voted. No more HGTV, sappy romances and made for TV movies....I now am going against two guys for TV rights. From now on, our TV will probably stay on ESPN and any major sporting event. I think I will spend the rest of the rainy afternoon watching a cheesy romantic movie and top it off with some HGTV while I still can!!!!

Shelbyville brunch

More of our family was in this weekend to support my cousin in Little 5 at DePauw (yay Jen!), so we made the trip over to see them in Shelbyville on Sunday.
Roy made the trip over to meet Evan!
Evan saying hello to Great Uncle Todd.
My cousin Anne...you can't see her adorable little belly, but Anne is expecting a baby girl in the beginning of August. I'm pretty sure Evan was talking in special baby language to Baby Girl Field b/c she kicked at him a few times when Anne held Evan. He was probably telling her how great it was outside and that she should hurry up and get here b/c he is excited to hang out! They already have matching pink and blue life jackets for the summer at Lake Tippy courtesy of Aunt Betsy!
Sarah and Evan. She might have been teaching him his ABCs and 123s...its never too early to start forming young minds ;)

Evan has met his Great Aunt Betsy twice, and I STILL have not taken a picture!!!!

Indy Weekend

We made the trip to Indy this weekend to see some friends! It was Evan's first overnight trip, and I have to say, it went great! He did a great job sleeping in the pack and play and managed to keep the fussiness to a minimum. Here are some pictures from the weekend. Somehow the Coulters managed to make it through an entire evening without getting caught by my camera, but Evan got to meet and cuddle with them too.

This is Evan meeting Evan for the first time! Evan getting cozy with, Evan's (this could get confusing) fiancee, Lauren, and their two dogs, Louie and HunterHunter likes to be held too ;). He is a huge dog that actually believes that he is a lap dog.

3 months???

this outfit that fits quite nicely is a 3 month outfit. i'm going to pretend that it was marked incorrectly or that the brand runs small. ignorance is bliss....right? regardless, i am not going to acknowledge the fact that my less than 1 month old son is wearing some 3 month clothes. this outfit helps me out...the top is 0-3 month and the pants are still newborn!!!

g diapers Day 1

So, Evan isn't exactly a peanut, but he was still a bit too small to try the g Diapers when he came home from the hospital. But, now he has surpassed his birth weight, and I ran out of Newborn diapers. So, we are taking g Diapers for a test drive instead of buying more disposables. First impression, they actually seem easier to put on than the disposables! I don't actually have a solid reason why, but after I put it on, I actually thought to myself, that was easy! They also appear to be more comfortable than disposables b/c they have soft elastic as the waistband and the leg holes are actually just a soft cotton. We will see once one gets dirty how easy it is though.

A Word of Caution to all the Pregnant Women...

Think VERY carefully before you take up any activities consistently while pregnant. I walked a TON while I was pregnant. For the main chunk, I walked on the treadmill since it was winter, and for the last two months or so, I walked for around an hour a day outside. Very early on, Bret and I realized that Evan was soothed the most by movement...specifically walking. So, we have strapped him in the Baby Bjorn hundreds of times and just walked in circles around the house when he was fussy. For the most part, this did the trick (just ask Bret how fun it was last night at 3am). Today, Evan has been Mr. Cranky Pants, so I remembered something I said jokingly while pregnant...."I have walked so much on the treadmill...he will probably only be able to sleep to the sound of the treadmill". SO, I gave it a try. This is what I got after literally 30 seconds of walking on the treadmill. AWESOME. So, my advice to all pregnant women....don't do anything a ton while you are pregnant unless you are sure you can do it a ton right after you give birth!!!

More pictures...

evan and i have a great routine worked out while i'm still on my maternity leave. we get up, he eats, we nap, he poses for 9 million pictures, he eats, he naps, we take 9 million pictures and then repeat over and over again until daddy gets home and it is time for bed. some people have a photo album for every year or a handful of years of their kids lives...for my first, i'm going to need a 300 photo album per week :).

Evan gets SOOO mad when he yawns so big like this...but it is SOOO cute!
i'm pretty sure he started posing when i whipped out the camera...
NOT happy about the soon to happen diaper change or the fact that he is practically naked... he rolled himself over like this one day right after a diaper change. it was a total fluke and was only possible b/c he was placed right next to the space between the couch cushions...but he looks so cute!!!

Grandma Deb comes to visit

just chillin with my grandma deb...

Best Buddies :)

Evan's friend came to visit today! Grant is 10 weeks and Evan is almost 3 weeks...
i love this one b/c Grant seems to say, "OH MY, WHAT IS YOUR MOM DOING??" or maybe "AHHHHHHHHHHH". And, Evan seems to be thinking, "I have no idea...she gets likes this sometimes" or maybe just a simple "HUH, no clue".

He does open his eyes...

he does actually open his eyes from time to time...right now they are blue, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that they stay blue.

Aunt Kate flew in to visit!

Aunt Kate flew in to meet her new nephew this weekend. They are having some extra special cuddle time right now, and I am getting the feeling that it is going to be pretty hard for her to go to the airport tomorrow. Only 2 months until we get to see her again for her wedding in California...
its evan's 2 week bday! we had our first "big" outing today by going to the mall. evan/bret also got to use the baby bjorn for the first time. bret was a HUGE fan, and evan seemed to like it a lot too...he was completely passed out the entire time he was in the baby carrier.

First Bath

Evan's first bath....
tolerating getting his hair clean
hating having his sponge bath...
his final thoughts of bathtime..

ahhh...

i think evan likes his crib!!

This is for me...right?

Tillie is SUCH a great big sis...she checks all of Evan's gifts to make sure they are safe and comfortable...
