Panama City Beach - Family Vacation Post #1

Since Phil graduated from IU School of Optometry at the beginning of May, we used that as a convenient excuse to escape with the whole family to Panama City Beach.  It was wonderful.  I don't work a 9-5 job, but I really was looking forward to this vacation!  Evan adored having Zoe to play with every day, and he got some quality lessons in sharing.

Evan loves his Packaw...he also loves Packaw's and Grammy's iPad which made the trip to the beach too.  It is a bit scary how skilled he is on navigating through it and playing some of the games.

 

i am not sure I got a picture of evan looking up at any point during the trip...he was so amazed by the ocean, the pool and the beach.  his favorite activity was probably searching through the sand and waves to find shells

 

grace:  "what?  i see nothing wrong here"  zoe: "not. a. fan."



HUGE understatement to say that the kids loved the beach, the sand and the pool.  grace did several voluntary face dives into the water and usually ended up soaking anyone in a 3' radius from all her splashing.  both kids will be in swim lessons immediately!  evan because he gets braver every moment and really should know how to swim, and grace just because she is crazy obsessed with water!

evan brought one of his giant monster trucks with him to the beach.  the boys offered to build him a track of sorts...for him.  do you see evan anywhere in this picture?

 

this one couldn't get enough of sand.  the towels and blankets were useless because as soon as her butt hit the ground, she started pulling at whatever she was sitting on to expose the sand.  then, she would dig right in with her hands and her feet!  it was all fun and games until she got tired and started her routine "i need to sleep" eye rubs.
